Lousy Weather, Instant Hot Coffee

It rained cats and dogs in Granada, completely watering down my enchantment with the Alhambra. I guess I'll have to go back another day. So bummed.
Instead of hitting Malaga and Ronda, I headed straight for Vejer de la Frontera where chef and caterer Annie Manson kindly offered to put me up.

En route, as the palm and cyprus trees bent over from the gusts of wind and the rain pelted my car, I stopped for refuge and coffee at the gas stop. Although they did not have cafe, the attendant told me about this instant hot coffee.
I love gadgets and was fascinated by how this works. You press the button on the bubbled bottom and shake vigorously. The more you shake, the hotter it gets. The crystals in the thermos warm up the coffee inside. Voila! Hot coffee.

The cappuccino version tasted much better than the plain coffee. Despite the white knuckled adventure, I made it to Vejer safely, around 10pm. Very tired.

What an adventure you're having! So envious. Looking like good eats are happening all around.
